AtkinsRéalis Group Inc. (ATRL.TO) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indigenous-owned Scout Engineering and Consulting Ltd. to jointly pursue major projects across Canada.
The agreement covers engineering, infrastructure and related project opportunities, establishing a formal framework for a long-term strategic partnership between the two companies.
A central focus of the partnership is advancing Indigenous participation in major infrastructure, energy, transportation, defence and industrial projects nationwide.
The collaboration is designed to combine Scout Engineering’s Indigenous knowledge, technical expertise and deep community relationships with AtkinsRéalis’ broader engineering and design capabilities.
AtkinsRéalis brings significant project delivery capacity to the partnership, which both companies say will help strengthen community capacity across the country.
The two firms say the arrangement is structured to create long-term economic opportunities for Indigenous communities involved in or affected by major infrastructure development.
Under the memorandum, the partners intend to work together on engineering, project management and environmental services across a wide range of project types.
Indigenous advisory services, governance and economic development are also listed among the areas of intended collaboration under the newly signed agreement.
Community infrastructure is another key focus area identified by the two companies as part of their joint pursuit of project opportunities across Canada.
The partnership signals a growing emphasis within the Canadian engineering sector on integrating Indigenous-led firms into large-scale infrastructure and industrial development pipelines.
AtkinsRéalis, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker ATRL.TO, is one of Canada’s largest engineering and professional services firms, operating across multiple sectors.
Scout Engineering and Consulting Ltd. brings community relationships and Indigenous advisory expertise that are increasingly valued in the planning and delivery of Canadian infrastructure projects.
