NeuroOne Medical Technologies (NMTC) Posts 72% Revenue Jump But Still Misses Analyst Targets

NeuroOne Medical Technologies (NASDAQ: NMTC) reported fiscal second quarter 2026 earnings after the market close, falling just short of analyst expectations on both revenue and earnings per share.

The company posted product revenue of $2.4 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, compared to $1.4 million in the same period a year ago, representing a 72% year-over-year increase.

Despite that strong growth, the result came in roughly 9% below the consensus analyst estimate of $2.63 million, reflecting ongoing challenges in scaling commercial operations fast enough to meet market projections.

On the bottom line, NeuroOne reported a net loss of $0.25 per share, an improvement from the $0.44 per share loss recorded in the year-ago quarter but still a modest miss against the analyst consensus of $0.23 per share.

Total operating expenses for the quarter were $3.4 million, roughly flat compared to $3.5 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2025, suggesting the company continues to manage its cost base with discipline.

Net loss for the quarter came in at $2.1 million, down from $2.3 million in the prior-year period, signaling gradual improvement in the company’s financial position as product adoption grows.

Cash and cash equivalents stood at $2.8 million at quarter end, a notable decline from $6.6 million as of September 30, 2025, raising questions about the company’s near-term liquidity runway.

On a positive note, NeuroOne announced that a new high-net-worth investor acquired approximately 7.4% of the company’s outstanding common stock through open market purchases, signaling external confidence in the company’s direction.

David Wambeke was appointed Chief Business Officer during the quarter and separately purchased 1,000,000 shares of common stock, a move that underscores leadership’s belief in the company’s long-term growth prospects.

NeuroOne also confirmed it has regained Nasdaq compliance with the minimum bid price requirement, removing a regulatory overhang that had weighed on investor sentiment in recent months.

The company completed the stage 2 audit toward ISO 13485 certification, a milestone that is expected to open the door to international distribution of its medical device products.

Final product builds are currently underway for the company’s drug delivery system, with commercial availability targeted for the second half of fiscal 2026 for use in investigational studies.

The revenue gains were driven by expanding adoption of NeuroOne’s OneRF ablation systems, which remain the core commercial product powering the company’s growth strategy heading into the second half of the fiscal year.
