i-80 Gold (IAUX) CEO And Medifast (MED) Director Make Significant Insider Purchases

Insider buying activity is often viewed as one of the more reliable signals in equity markets, given that executives put their own capital on the line.

The logic behind tracking insider transactions is straightforward: while insiders may sell shares for countless personal reasons, a purchase typically signals one thing — confidence in future performance.

Two notable insider buys emerged this week, drawing attention from market watchers following SEC filings for i-80 Gold (IAUX) and Medifast (MED).

At i-80 Gold, CEO Richard Scott Young made a substantial commitment to the company by purchasing 1,000,000 shares of IAUX on Tuesday.

Young paid $1.62 per share for the position, bringing his total investment to $1.62 million in a single transaction.

Based on Friday’s trading high of $1.85, Young is already sitting on a gain of approximately 14.2% since making that purchase earlier in the week.

i-80 Gold shares were trading up around 3.7% on Friday, suggesting broader positive momentum around the stock following the disclosed purchase.

This was not Young’s first insider buy in recent months, as he also purchased $1.4 million worth of shares at $1.40 apiece within the past twelve months.

The back-to-back purchases from the company’s top executive suggest a sustained and deliberate vote of confidence in i-80 Gold’s direction and underlying asset value.

On the Medifast side, Director Parsa Kiai entered a sizable position on Thursday, acquiring 72,487 shares of MED at $11.63 per share.

Kiai’s purchase totalled $842,699, representing the first insider buy filed by the director in the past twelve months.

Medifast shares were trading up approximately 2.8% on Friday, reflecting some market optimism around the disclosed insider activity.

Insider purchases of this scale, particularly from C-suite executives and board members, tend to attract attention because they reflect informed conviction rather than passive exposure to a company.

Both IAUX and MED now carry fresh insider buying on record, giving investors additional data points to weigh as they assess each stock’s near-term outlook.
