NuScale Power (SMR) CFO Sells 30,000 Shares While Stock Sits Near 52-Week Low

NuScale Power Corporation (NYSE: SMR) Chief Financial Officer Robert Ramsey Hamady sold 29,880 shares of company stock on August 27, 2026, according to a recent SEC Form 4 filing.

The transaction was valued at approximately $280,573, based on a weighted average execution price of $9.39 per share at the time of sale.

Importantly, the sale was non-discretionary and executed solely to cover mandatory tax withholding obligations triggered by the vesting of restricted stock units.

A total of 76,923 RSUs vested and settled on the same date, meaning the number of shares Hamady gained significantly exceeded the number sold for tax purposes.

As a result, Hamady’s direct holdings actually increased from 77,192 shares to 124,235 shares following the transaction, representing a post-transaction value of approximately $1.21 million.

The CFO continues to hold 76,923 derivative securities representing the remaining unvested portion of a restricted stock unit grant originally issued in August 2023.

Because the sale was tied to a scheduled RSU vesting event rather than a discretionary market decision, it does not necessarily reflect the executive’s outlook on the stock.

NuScale Power shares have delivered a one-year total return of -72% as of the August 27, 2026 transaction date, leaving the stock trading near its 52-week low.

The company’s financial performance has weighed heavily on investor sentiment, with second-quarter revenue coming in at just $75,000, compared to $8.1 million in the prior-year period.

NuScale posted a net loss of $50.1 million for the quarter, a significant increase from the $37.6 million loss recorded in the same period of 2025, as the company failed to secure new customer contracts.

On a trailing twelve-month basis, NuScale reported total revenue of $10.7 million against a net loss of $415.7 million, underscoring the scale of its commercialization challenge.

The company currently carries a market capitalisation of $3.9 billion despite being in the early stages of commercialising its proprietary small modular reactor technology.

NuScale’s flagship product is its VOYGR SMR plant, powered by NuScale Power Modules, light water nuclear reactors each capable of generating 77 megawatts of electricity per unit.

The company targets utility companies, industrial energy consumers, and government entities seeking carbon-free, scalable power generation to meet decarbonisation and energy security goals.

While NuScale’s financial results remain under pressure, its strategic positioning within the global energy transition continues to attract attention from investors watching the broader SMR sector.
