Q3 2024 SOFTSWISS Esports and Sports Betting Report Highlights Growth and New Opportunities

Esports has witnessed remarkable growth in Q3 2024, with turnover doubling compared to the previous quarter. The average bet on cybersports saw a 17.6% increase quarter-on-quarter,” as revealed in the latest SOFTSWISS Sportsbook Q3 2024 report by SOFTSWISS, a global tech expert with over 15 years of experience in innovative iGaming solutions.

The report shows consistent top performers in Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR), with Football, Tennis, Basketball, Table Tennis, and eFootball leading the way. Notably, eFootball has surpassed Counter-Strike 2 for the second consecutive quarter, signaling a shift in esports interest. Football, however, remains dominant, generating nearly half of the total GGR.

A 10% quarter-on-quarter increase in average live bets has been advantageous for operators, as live wagers account for 78.6% of turnover. To capitalize on this trend, the SOFTSWISS Sportsbook team is enhancing the live betting experience, aiming to provide even more revenue opportunities for operators.

The quarter saw a 9.7% growth in the average bet and an 18.7% increase in total bets, alongside a modest GGR growth of 1.5% quarter-on-quarter.

Despite the extensive projects launched around UEFA Euro 2024, month-on-month statistics suggest that with effective promotional strategies, operators can maintain project momentum well beyond large-scale events.

Alexander Kamenetskyi, Head of SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, explains:

“Aligning a launch with a major sporting event can be successful, but football isn’t the only sport that offers this advantage. The rise in cybersports presents new opportunities; esports events can also be an ideal launch point for targeted projects aimed at specific audiences. We remain focused on product growth and feature development to enhance engagement and profitability for our partners.”

SOFTSWISS Sportsbook continues its global expansion, securing certification in Brazil through an authorized testing laboratory. Additionally, for the South African market, the recent integration of a Horse Racing Module offers operators over 2,400 international and local races monthly. The module includes race cards, silks, and various bet types, plus customization options to support unique brand identities.
