Flutter Entertainment (FLUT) Trades At Deep Discount As FanDuel Rides NFL App Surge

Flutter Entertainment (NYSE: FLUT) is drawing fresh investor attention after Apptopia data showed NFL Week 1 sportsbook apps pulling more daily active users than during the World Cup.

FanDuel, Flutter’s flagship platform in the United States, sits at the center of that engagement story as the most prominent beneficiary of the surge in mobile betting activity.

The timing of this user spike is complicated by a brutal stretch for Flutter shareholders, with the stock down 10.9% over the past week and 59.0% year to date.

The one-year total shareholder return has fallen 68.5%, signaling that strong product engagement has so far done little to stabilize market confidence in the company.

Flutter now trades at $89.56 per share, well below the most widely followed analyst fair value estimate of $139.13, implying a discount of roughly 35.6% to that target.

That valuation estimate applies a 10.19% discount rate and is built around the company’s expected path from a $754.0 million loss to profitability over the coming years.

Analysts projecting that fair value assume revenue growth in the mid to high single digit range, with profit margins recovering from current loss-making levels toward approximately 5.8%.

The bull case rests on a 23.7x multiple applied to projected 2029 earnings, combined with a revenue target of $22.6 billion that would be needed to anchor that $139.13 figure.

Flutter’s integration of recent acquisitions, including Snai in Italy and NSX in Brazil, is expected to unlock cost synergies and efficiency gains that could underpin higher EBITDA margins over time.

Those integrations and associated platform migrations are viewed as central to the operational leverage story that analysts say could drive sustained earnings growth if executed successfully.

Analyst price targets remain extremely wide, running from a low of $85.00 to a high of $360.00, reflecting deep disagreement about how quickly Flutter can convert user scale into meaningful profitability.

The current share price, according to the prevailing narrative, already factors in a slower revenue trajectory, slightly compressed margin expectations, and ongoing regulatory and competitive risk.

Regulatory pressure on online gambling remains a credible threat to the investment case, particularly if tighter rules emerge across key Flutter markets in the United States or Europe.

Failure to extract promised efficiencies from the Snai and NSX integrations would also put significant pressure on the assumptions underpinning the $139.13 fair value estimate.

For investors watching NFL season trading patterns, the Week 1 engagement data provides a useful signal, but the gap between user activity and financial performance remains the central challenge Flutter must close.
