McKesson Corporation (NYSE: MCK) has signed an agreement in principle to extend its pharmaceutical distribution partnership with CVS Health (NYSE: CVS) through June 2032.
The extended deal covers distribution of pharmaceuticals to mail order and specialty pharmacies, retail pharmacies, and distribution centers operated by CVS Health.
The two companies have maintained their working relationship for more than 25 years, making this one of the longest-running partnerships in pharmaceutical distribution.
Brian Tyler, chair and chief executive officer of McKesson, commented directly on the significance of the renewed agreement for both companies and their customers.
“We are pleased to extend our long-standing, strategic relationship with CVS Health and continue supporting their important role in serving patients and communities across the country,” Tyler said.
Tyler added that the decades-long collaboration has been defined by consistent, high-quality service delivery to patients across the United States.
“For more than 25 years, our teams have worked together to deliver reliable, high-quality services to patients, and we remain committed to building on that strong foundation through our differentiated capabilities and shared focus on improving health outcomes,” Tyler said.
Alongside the partnership news, McKesson reaffirmed its fiscal year 2027 adjusted earnings per share guidance range of $44.20 to $45.00, signaling continued confidence in its financial trajectory.
The company also reaffirmed its long-term adjusted EPS growth rate target of 13% to 16%, underscoring its broader strategic ambitions beyond the current fiscal year.
Investors and analysts seeking further detail will have an opportunity to hear from management during the company’s second quarter fiscal 2027 earnings call, scheduled for November 4, 2026.
McKesson acknowledged in its forward-looking statements that the agreement in principle carries some execution risk, as definitive contract negotiations can face unexpected delays.
The company also noted that the parties could potentially fail to finalize a definitive contract for the full term extension under certain circumstances, introducing a degree of uncertainty into the timeline.
Despite that caveat, the agreement signals a strong mutual commitment between two major players in pharmaceutical distribution and retail pharmacy at a time when supply chain reliability remains a top priority across the healthcare sector.
