Flutter Entertainment (FLUT) Faces Fair Value Cut As Analysts Reassess Guidance And Margin Outlook

Flutter Entertainment (FLUT) has seen its analyst fair value estimate trimmed from US$136.12 to US$132.56, reflecting a more cautious view of the stock’s near-term prospects.

The adjustment comes amid a divided analyst community, with bullish voices pointing to FanDuel strength while skeptics flag repeated guidance reductions and rising promotional costs.

Several firms including Wedbush, BTIG, Jefferies, Stifel, Macquarie, Wolfe Research, and Citizens continue to rate Flutter positively, even as they trim their individual price targets.

Wedbush highlights FanDuel customer wins during NFL kickoff weeks, arguing that Flutter is generating more activity per promotional dollar spent despite less favorable sports results.

Jefferies and BTIG point to Q2 results that came in ahead of their internal revenue and EBITDA benchmarks, framing marketing and promotion spending as an investment in future engagement rather than a pure earnings drag.

Citi upgraded FLUT first to Neutral and then to Buy, while Susquehanna maintained a Positive stance, with both reflecting a view that estimates have been reset and newer product launches could drive a reassessment of Flutter’s execution story.

On the bearish side, Rothschild & Co Redburn moved Flutter Entertainment to Neutral with a lower US$119 price target, citing four consecutive guidance cuts and calling on the new management team to demonstrate it can meet near-term commitments.

Wells Fargo, JPMorgan, and Bernstein all reduced their price targets, factoring in weaker hold rates, higher promotional intensity, and what JPMorgan described as an increasingly cloudy industry backdrop linked to the growth of prediction markets.

The revised fair value reflects several key assumption changes, including a long-term revenue growth estimate moving from 8.98% to 8.62% and a net profit margin assumption falling from 4.54% to 4.13%.

The future price-to-earnings multiple assumption has shifted upward from 30.79x to 33.63x, while the discount rate assumption has moved from 10.64% to 10.99%, adding further pressure to the valuation model.

Regulatory uncertainty remains a central concern for analysts watching FLUT, with evolving rules in key markets adding unpredictability to Flutter’s growth trajectory across multiple regions.

Flutter carries approximately US$8.5 billion of net debt, a figure that analysts note could weigh on profitability and limit flexibility as the company continues integrating acquisitions such as Snai in Italy and NSX in Brazil.

Product development in live and personalized betting, alongside expansion in newly regulated markets including the US and Brazil, continues to be cited as a potential driver of user engagement and longer-term revenue growth.

iGaming penetration and structural cost efforts remain factors that analysts are watching closely as indicators of whether Flutter can improve its margin and free cash flow outlook over the coming quarters.

The broader narrative for FLUT now hinges on whether management can stabilize guidance, demonstrate promotional efficiency, and convert its product investments into measurable earnings improvement heading into 2027.
