SOFTSWISS Launches First South African Project with Mzansibet

Global iGaming technology provider SOFTSWISS has officially launched its first major project in South Africa, partnering with Mzansibet in a deal that marks the debut of both the SOFTSWISS Sportsbook and Casino Platform in the country.

This milestone comes as South Africa’s iGaming market continues to expand rapidly, with recent research from the South Africa: iGaming Market Overview 2025 by SOFTSWISS highlighting annual growth rates of 20–25%—a trend largely fuelled by rising mobile usage. In response, SOFTSWISS has prioritised mobile optimisation across its platforms, ensuring an intuitive and seamless experience for Mzansibet users.

Launching in a tightly regulated market required extensive groundwork. Both the sportsbook and casino platform underwent GLI certification (via Gaming Laboratories International) and received approval from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board, confirming full compliance with local technical standards and regulatory frameworks.

Max Trafimovich, International Non-Executive Director at SOFTSWISS, commented:

“Mzansibet entered the market with a bold ambition to become a top-tier brand – and we are not only proud to support that vision from day one, but also well-equipped to ensure its sustainable growth.
Leveraging our global and local expertise, we provide the technical, business, and service tools necessary for a smooth launch and scalable development. This is made possible thanks to our robust and stable architecture with 99.999% uptime and a flexible platform ecosystem.

In addition, the brand launched a nationwide TV advertising campaign and has already attracted tens of thousands of players across the country – a powerful testament to its growing presence and trust.”

To meet local expectations, SOFTSWISS also undertook significant frontend localisation, tailoring the platform to align with South African player preferences and betting behaviours.
