Flutter Entertainment (FLUT) Misses Q2 Earnings Estimates As Stock Slides Over 50% This Year

Flutter Entertainment (FLUT) reported quarterly earnings of $0.49 per share for Q2 2026, falling short of the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.58 per share.

The result represents an earnings surprise of -15.52%, a sharp reversal from the prior quarter’s positive surprise of +6.09%.

A year ago, Flutter posted earnings of $2.95 per share, making the year-over-year decline especially pronounced for the online gambling giant.

Last quarter, Flutter was expected to earn $1.15 per share and instead delivered $1.22, demonstrating the company’s ability to beat estimates when conditions align.

Over the past four quarters, Flutter has surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times, suggesting this quarter’s miss is more exception than pattern.

On the revenue side, Flutter posted $4.33 billion for the quarter ended June 2026, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 2.77% and topping year-ago revenues of $4.19 billion.

Despite the revenue beat, Flutter shares have lost approximately 51.2% since the start of the year, compared to the S&P 500’s gain of 13% over the same period.

The estimate revisions trend ahead of this earnings release was unfavorable, and Flutter currently holds a Zacks Rank #5, designated as a Strong Sell.

Analysts currently project consensus EPS of $0.90 on revenues of $4.2 billion for the coming quarter, and $5.87 on $18.2 billion in revenues for the full fiscal year.

The broader Gaming industry context adds further pressure, as the sector currently sits in the bottom 26% of more than 250 Zacks-ranked industries.

Research from Zacks indicates that the top 50% of ranked industries outperform the bottom 50% by a factor of more than 2 to 1, a troubling benchmark for Flutter investors.

Fellow gaming industry stock Grandstand Limited (GRSD) has yet to report results for the quarter ended June 2026, with results expected on August 13.

Grandstand is projected to post a quarterly loss of $0.04 per share, representing a year-over-year change of -110.8% compared to the same period last year.

The consensus EPS estimate for Grandstand has remained unchanged over the last 30 days, while revenues are expected to reach $37.5 million, down 5.3% from the year-ago quarter.

For Flutter, management’s commentary on the earnings call will be closely watched as investors look for signals about the company’s path forward amid sustained market underperformance.
