Elon Musk’s SpaceX Endorses Nvidia (NVDA) As The “Best AI Computer” And Commits To Vera Rubin Architecture

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk delivered a significant boost to Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) shareholders during the company’s recent earnings conference call.

Musk stated plainly that Nvidia makes the “best AI computer,” offering one of the most direct endorsements the chipmaker has received from a major tech leader in recent memory.

SpaceX, which trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker SPCX, also confirmed it will exclusively use Nvidia’s new Vera Rubin architecture by the end of the year.

The partnership between SpaceX and Nvidia is already well established, but this latest commitment signals a deeper and more exclusive reliance on Nvidia’s cutting-edge hardware.

SpaceX has an ambitious long-term vision of launching data centers into space, performing computing operations in orbit where cooling and physical footprint challenges may be more manageable.

That space-based computing vision, however lofty, positions Nvidia as a central hardware supplier to one of the most forward-thinking infrastructure projects currently being pursued by any private company.

In terms of raw financial impact, SpaceX spent approximately $28.5 billion on capital expenditures over the first six months of 2026, which annualizes to nearly $60 billion for the full year.

That figure, while substantial, is notably smaller than the $100 billion to more than $200 billion that major AI hyperscalers are committing to data center capital expenditures this year.

SpaceX becoming an exclusive Nvidia client is a meaningful win, but the more important takeaway is what the endorsement signals about Nvidia’s competitive position across the broader AI computing landscape.

The market has been pricing in concern that Nvidia could lose ground to rising competitors, yet Musk’s endorsement suggests the company remains firmly at the top of the AI computing hierarchy.

At less than 24 times forward earnings, Nvidia’s stock is not particularly expensive relative to the growth it continues to deliver across its customer base.

Musk’s technical credibility is widely recognized in the industry, and an endorsement of this nature from the CEO of SpaceX carries considerable weight with both institutional and retail investors watching the AI chip sector closely.
