Charter Hall (CHC.AX) Posts Strong FY26 Results With Rising Profit And FUM, But Shares Slide Nearly 7%

Charter Hall Group (CHC.AX), the Australian property investment and funds management company, delivered a strong fiscal 2026 performance across profit, income, and funds under management.

Profit attributable to stapled securityholders rose to A$427.9 million in the full year, up from A$327.7 million recorded in the prior corresponding period.

Earnings per stapled security climbed to 88.8 cents, compared with 68.0 cents in the previous year, reflecting broad-based momentum across the business.

Operating earnings reached A$488.1 million, a gain of 26.8 percent from A$385.0 million in the prior year, signalling a significant acceleration in underlying performance.

Operating earnings per stapled security rose to 103.2 cents from 81.4 cents a year ago, while operating profit also increased to A$529.7 million from A$443.2 million.

Total income for the year grew to A$811.3 million from A$672.9 million, with funds management revenue expanding to A$556.7 million from A$544.9 million a year ago.

Funds under management reached A$94.324 billion, up from A$84.319 billion in the prior year, with property funds under management rising 13.8 percent year-over-year to A$76.0 billion.

Charter Hall lifted its distribution per security to 50.7 cents, representing a 6.0 percent increase from the prior year, rewarding investors with a higher payout.

Despite the strong results, shares in Charter Hall fell around 6.9 percent in Australian trading, changing hands at A$20.59, suggesting investors had priced in higher expectations.

Looking ahead to fiscal 2027, Charter Hall projected operating earnings per security of approximately 114.0 cents, representing growth of 10.5 percent from the previous year.

Distribution per security guidance for fiscal 2027 points to a further 6 percent increase over the fiscal 2026 figure, maintaining the company’s track record of consistent payout growth.

Charter Hall Chair Stephen Conry expressed confidence about the road ahead, citing improved market dynamics and strong investor demand as key tailwinds for the business.

Conry stated: “We enter the year ahead with confidence, supported by strengthening market conditions, growing investor demand, a substantial pipeline of opportunities and the enduring customer and capital partner relationships that continue to differentiate Charter Hall.”

The results reinforce Charter Hall’s position as one of Australia’s leading property funds managers, with its growing FUM base providing a durable platform for future earnings expansion.
