JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd. (JKS) announced on Wednesday that Xiande Li has resigned as Chief Executive Officer, with the change taking effect immediately.
Wei “Dimi” Du has been appointed as Li’s successor, assuming the CEO role effective August 26, 2026.
Li is not departing the company entirely, as he will continue to serve as chairman of the board following his resignation as CEO.
Li will also retain his positions as chair of the compensation and nominating and corporate governance committees, maintaining significant influence over company direction.
JinkoSolar stated that Li’s resignation was not due to any disagreement with the company, signaling the transition is an amicable and planned leadership shift.
The company also said it does not expect the leadership change to materially affect its business operations, offering reassurance to investors and stakeholders.
Du brings relevant experience to the top job, having served as the company’s Vice President of strategic investment since April 2026.
Before taking on that role, Du held several strategic investment and chairman-assistant roles at the company and at Jinko Power Technology.
The leadership announcement came alongside notable movement in JinkoSolar’s stock price, with shares falling 3.91% to $14.90 in pre-market trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
JinkoSolar is one of the world’s leading solar energy companies, and any shift in executive leadership tends to draw close attention from investors in the renewable energy sector.
The appointment of Du marks a new chapter for the solar firm as it navigates an increasingly competitive global clean energy market.
Li’s decision to remain as board chairman suggests the company values continuity at the governance level even as it transitions operational leadership to a new generation of executives.
