Freetrailer Group (R0C.F) Launches Share Buyback Programme Worth Up To 20 Million Danish Kroner

Freetrailer Group (R0C.F) has kicked off a share repurchase programme after its board exercised authorisation granted by the Annual General Meeting on 27 November 2023.

The board approved the repurchase of treasury shares up to an aggregate value of 20 million Danish kroner under the newly launched programme.

The programme is scheduled to run from 31 August 2026 through to and including 31 December 2026, giving the company several months to execute the buyback.

Freetrailer has stated that it does not expect to cancel the acquired shares once the repurchase programme has been completed.

The company also noted that it may initiate a new share repurchase programme if the total value of repurchased shares falls short of the 20 million kroner target.

CEO Thomas Zeihlund framed the decision as a reflection of the company’s improved financial standing and its commitment to disciplined capital management.

“We have reached a point where our financial strength gives us greater flexibility, and we need to use that flexibility with discipline,” Zeihlund said.

Zeihlund was also clear that the buyback programme is not intended to divert resources away from the company’s core growth ambitions.

“The share repurchase programme is not an alternative to investing in Freetrailer’s growth, we will continue to invest in our markets, our platform and the development of the business,” he added.

The programme signals a notable moment for Freetrailer, as buyback activity typically reflects a company’s confidence in its own financial position and long-term outlook.

Share repurchase programmes are commonly used by companies to return value to shareholders while retaining flexibility that dividends do not offer.

Freetrailer’s approach, retaining the acquired shares rather than cancelling them, suggests the company may have future strategic uses in mind for those holdings.

Investors will be watching closely to see whether the full 20 million kroner allocation is deployed before the December 2026 deadline, or whether a follow-on programme becomes necessary.
