Synaptics (SYNA) CEO Rahul Patel Sells Shares Under Pre-Planned Trading Program

Rahul G. Patel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Synaptics Inc (NASDAQ: SYNA), sold company shares totaling $239,867 on August 19, 2026.

The transaction involved 2,276 shares sold at a price of $105.39 per share, according to regulatory filings.

The sale was conducted under a 10b5-1 trading plan, a pre-scheduled arrangement that Patel established on September 4, 2025.

Such plans allow corporate insiders to sell shares at predetermined times and prices, removing any suggestion of trading on privileged information.

The sale comes as SYNA stock has delivered a 48% return over the past year, a strong performance relative to broader market benchmarks.

Shares were trading at $100.98 at the time of reporting, sitting well below the stock’s 52-week high of $149.11.

Just two days before the sale, on August 17, 2026, Patel acquired a total of 119,501 common shares through separate vesting events tied to his compensation package.

That figure included 33,927 shares from restricted stock units scheduled to vest in installments, with one-third vesting immediately and one-twelfth vesting each quarter until full vesting on August 17, 2029.

An additional 85,574 common shares were acquired by Patel, reflecting earned performance stock units, with both acquisition sets reported at a price of $0.0 per share.

On the same August 17 date, Patel also saw a disposition of 15,302 common shares, valued at $1,692,095, at a price of $110.58 per share.

Those shares were withheld by Synaptics to satisfy tax obligations associated with the settlement of the performance stock units, a standard practice for executive compensation arrangements.

Patel holds the titles of President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director at Synaptics, making him one of the most closely watched insiders at the semiconductor interface solutions company.

Synaptics develops human interface solutions used across a wide range of consumer electronics, IoT devices, and enterprise products, positioning itself in several high-growth technology markets.

Insider transactions at companies like Synaptics are closely monitored by investors as signals of executive confidence, though pre-planned 10b5-1 sales are generally viewed as routine rather than directional.
