Six Public Tech Stocks Investors Should Watch Instead Of Waiting For The Anthropic IPO

While the potential Anthropic IPO dominates investor conversation, several already-public next-generation tech companies deserve serious attention right now.

Six stocks stand out as names worth watching for investors seeking exposure to cutting-edge technology sectors including quantum computing, air taxis, satellite connectivity, and voice AI.

IonQ (IONQ), Archer Aviation (ACHR), AST SpaceMobile (ASTS), SoundHound AI (SOUN), D-Wave Quantum (QBTS), and Redwire (RDW) make up the list.

IonQ currently carries a market cap of roughly $12.5 billion, and doubling that figure to $25 billion would require investors to gain confidence in the commercial viability of its quantum computing technology.

Quantum computing remains in a relatively early stage of development, meaning that kind of investor confidence could take years to build in any meaningful way.

One key metric to watch for IonQ is the conversion of its $485 million in remaining performance obligations into actual revenue, with approximately half expected within a year.

IonQ also holds about $2.1 billion in cash and short-term investments, providing roughly four years of operational runway, which gives the company time to prove its technology at scale.

Archer Aviation (ACHR) is working to reshape personal transportation with its electric air taxi vehicles, and its path to doubling its $3.1 billion market cap hinges on regulatory certification, production, and commercial launch.

Archer holds $1.6 billion in cash and short-term investments, giving it approximately two and a half years of runway, though dilution risk remains a concern if research and development costs outpace available funding.

AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) is building out a satellite network with significant execution risk still in play, and its $2.3 billion in cash represents roughly one year of runway, making dilution a major concern for investors.

SoundHound AI (SOUN) is deploying voice AI technology to power businesses across multiple industries, positioning itself as a potential key growth engine in the expanding artificial intelligence market.

D-Wave Quantum (QBTS) and Redwire (RDW) round out the list of six companies that represent compelling opportunities for investors willing to accept the risks that come with early-stage and growth-phase technology businesses.

Each of these six companies operates in a sector where the long-term opportunity is substantial, but near-term execution, regulatory progress, and capital management will determine which names ultimately deliver on their potential.
