Parker Hannifin Corp. (PH) lifted its fiscal 2027 guidance across multiple metrics after reporting a record order backlog and stronger-than-expected first-quarter results.
The motion and control products manufacturer now projects adjusted earnings per share of between $36.45 and $37.25 for the full fiscal year, alongside raised targets for margins and free cash flow.
Full-year reported sales growth is expected to land between 16.0% and 19.0%, with organic growth forecast in the 7.5% to 10.5% range, reflecting broad momentum across the business.
Executives attributed the elevated backlog and double-digit organic growth to rising demand spanning all of the company’s market verticals, a signal that order intake remains robust heading into the second quarter.
The Filtration Group acquisition also played a meaningful role, expanding Parker Hannifin’s filtration and aftermarket capabilities and contributing directly to the top-line surge in the September quarter.
For the three months ended September 30, 2026, revenue climbed 17.9% to $5.992 billion, compared with $5.084 billion in the same period a year earlier.
Organic sales growth accounted for 11.5 percentage points of that advance, underscoring that the underlying business, independent of acquisitions, is accelerating at a significant pace.
Adjusted earnings reached $1.138 billion, or $8.90 per share, representing a 23% increase in adjusted EPS and pushing the adjusted segment operating margin to 28.6%, a gain of 120 basis points year over year.
On a reported basis, net income for the quarter totaled $884 million, or $6.92 per share, up from $808 million, or $6.29 per share, during the first quarter of fiscal 2026.
Both the top and bottom lines cleared Wall Street’s bar by a comfortable margin, with six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research having forecast adjusted earnings of $8.23 per share ahead of the release.
Revenue also outpaced expectations, as five analysts tracked by Zacks had projected approximately $5.82 billion in sales for the period, leaving the actual result roughly $170 million above consensus.
The combination of acquisition-fueled expansion, organic volume gains, and disciplined margin management has positioned Parker Hannifin to sustain its growth trajectory well into the current fiscal year.
Investors will be watching whether the record backlog converts to revenue at a pace that supports the upper end of the company’s newly raised full-year guidance range.
