Evolution Mining (EVN.AX, EVMNY) Posts 59% Profit Surge In FY26, Raises Dividend But Flags Softer Production Ahead

Evolution Mining Ltd. (EVN.AX, EVMNY, CAHPF) delivered a sharp rise in full-year profit for fiscal 2026, driven by stronger commodity prices that offset declining production volumes.

Australia’s gold and copper miner reported net profit climbed 59 percent to A$1.475 billion, up from A$926 million in the prior corresponding period.

Earnings per share rose 57 percent to 72.77 cents, compared with 46.41 cents recorded in fiscal 2025.

Underlying net profit reached A$1.563 billion, representing a 63 percent increase from the A$958 million posted the year before.

Underlying EBITDA grew 44 percent to A$3.171 billion, with the margin expanding to 57 percent from 51 percent in the prior year.

Revenue from contracts with customers jumped 28 percent to A$5.559 billion, compared with A$4.351 billion a year earlier.

Gold production fell 5 percent year-on-year to 715 thousand ounces, while copper production declined 14 percent to 66 thousand tonnes.

Despite the production softness, achieved gold prices surged 40 percent to $6,023 per ounce, and the achieved copper price climbed 25 percent to $18,051 per tonne.

The strong price environment provided the financial headroom for the company to reward shareholders with a significantly higher dividend payout.

The board declared a fully franked final dividend of 21.0 cents per share, 62 percent higher than last year’s 13 cents per share, with a record date of September 10 and a payment date of October 2.

The full-year dividend totals 41.0 cents per share, reflecting the company’s improved cash generation over the course of the year.

Shares in Evolution Mining were trading at A$13.60 on the Australian Securities Exchange at the time of the announcement, down 0.37 percent on the day.

Looking ahead to fiscal 2027, the company signalled a cautious stance, projecting gold production in the range of 660,000 ounces to 730,000 ounces.

Copper production for the coming year is forecast between 63,000 tonnes and 70,000 tonnes, suggesting a broadly stable outlook at the lower end of recent output levels.

The company stated it expects its guidance to sustain a high-margin, high-cash generation position heading into fiscal 2027, despite the more conservative production targets.

The results underscore how elevated commodity prices have allowed Evolution Mining to deliver record-level financial outcomes even as physical output has moderated across key assets.
