StoneX Group (NASDAQ: SNEX) director John Moore Fowler sold 1,575 shares on August 5, 2026, according to a Form 4 filing with the SEC.
The transaction was executed at a weighted average sale price of $75.41 per share, generating a total transaction value of approximately $119,000.
Despite the sale, Fowler retains a substantial position in the company, holding 262,021 total shares valued at roughly $19.92 million as of the August 5 market close.
The vast majority of Fowler’s remaining stake, specifically 255,271 shares, is held directly, with an additional 6,750 shares held indirectly by his spouse.
The indirect holdings were not affected by the transaction, and the sale represents only a 0.6% reduction in Fowler’s overall equity exposure to StoneX.
SNEX shares closed at $76.02 on the date of the transaction, reflecting a remarkable gain of nearly 55% over the prior 12-month period.
That compares favorably to the S&P 500, which returned approximately 20% over the same period, underscoring StoneX’s strong relative performance.
The sale coincided with the company reporting its third-quarter 2026 earnings, which showed quarterly net operating revenue reaching $719.7 million, a 47% increase from the prior-year period.
CEO Philip Smith commented on the results, saying, “We continue to deliver double-digit growth in our Commercial, Institutional and Payments segments, reflecting the increasing value of the StoneX ecosystem to our expanding client base.”
StoneX has also been active on the acquisition front, acquiring Advanced Marketing Group, a merchandiser of pet food ingredients, feed, and organic fertilizer.
The company additionally announced a definitive agreement to acquire Banco Travelex, Brazil’s first bank dedicated solely to foreign exchange operations, which is regulated by the Central Bank of Brazil.
These acquisitions signal continued expansion ambitions for StoneX, a global financial services intermediary with a market capitalization of $8 billion and trailing twelve-month revenue of $155.7 billion.
The company’s business spans risk mitigation, hedging strategies, execution and clearing for exchange-traded and over-the-counter products, voice-based brokerage, market intelligence, and physical commodity trading.
StoneX serves a broad client base including corporations, financial institutions, traders, and investors requiring specialized capital markets and risk management services across global markets.
With Fowler retaining 255,271 directly held shares, the modest sale appears routine and consistent with an insider capitalizing on the stock’s exceptional recent performance rather than signaling any concern about the company’s outlook.
