AppLovin (APP) And CoreWeave (CRWV) Revenue Trends Reveal A Widening Gap

AppLovin (NASDAQ: APP) and CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV) are both high-growth technology companies, but their recent revenue trajectories are telling very different stories for investors.

AppLovin primarily provides software tools that help mobile app developers expand their audiences and monetize their digital applications across competitive global markets.

CoreWeave offers specialized cloud computing infrastructure and high-capacity storage solutions designed for intensive, complex enterprise computing operations at significant scale.

Both companies have posted consistently higher revenue year over year across the entire observed timeline, though CoreWeave has recently shown a steeper upward trajectory in quarterly growth.

AppLovin reported Q2 2026 revenue of $1.9 billion, representing 53% growth compared to the same period in 2025, alongside a strong 66% net income margin for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

CoreWeave surpassed AppLovin in absolute quarterly revenue during Q1 2026, generating $2.1 billion against AppLovin’s $1.8 billion, with CoreWeave widening that gap further to $2.6 billion in Q2 2026.

CoreWeave posted a -24% net income margin for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, reflecting the heavy capital investment required to build and expand its computing infrastructure at pace.

AppLovin’s revenue growth rate appears to be decelerating, with its year-over-year increase slipping from 59% in Q1 2026 to 53% in Q2 2026, and its Q3 forecast pointing to approximately $2.1 billion in sales.

AppLovin shares fell to a 52-week low of $303.17 on August 12 as Wall Street analysts downgraded the stock in response to signs of slowing growth momentum.

Meanwhile, CoreWeave’s AI-driven infrastructure business is experiencing unprecedented demand, with the company forecasting Q3 2026 revenue in a range between $3.5 billion and $3.6 billion.

CoreWeave recently executed a co-location agreement to expand its data center capacity in Sweden and secured a multi-year data storage agreement with Backblaze, supporting continued expansion.

AppLovin’s revenue tends to peak in the fourth quarter, when advertisers increase spending to reach holiday shoppers, a seasonal pattern that makes year-over-year comparisons particularly important for investors.

Revenue trends offer investors a reliable lens for assessing whether a business is successfully attracting new customers, maintaining operations efficiently, and expanding its overall financial footprint over time.

The critical question for investors now is whether CoreWeave’s lead over AppLovin will continue to widen, or whether AppLovin’s historical growth rates will find a way to narrow the gap in future quarters.
