Cardinal Health (CAH) CIO Sells $2.7 Million In Shares As Peers Hold Steady

Cardinal Health (NYSE: CAH) Chief Information Officer Michelle D. Greene sold 11,650 shares of common stock on August 18, according to a recent SEC Form 4 filing.

The transaction was valued at approximately $2.7 million, based on a weighted average sale price of $235.72 per share across multiple transactions.

Individual trades within the disposition ranged in price from $234.07 to $237.32 per share, resulting in the reported weighted average figure.

Greene executed all sales directly and holds no indirect equity through trusts or other legal entities, according to the filing.

Following the sale, Greene retains direct ownership of 10,330 shares, valued at approximately $2.43 million based on the August 18 market close price of $234.98.

Greene held 12,230 shares before performance units landed on August 4, meaning her post-sale position represents a reduction of roughly 16% from her pre-award holdings.

By comparison, CEO Jason Hollar and Chief Legal Officer Jessica Mayer also sold shares during the same window, both finishing within about 5% of where they started.

The sale occurred following a period of notable stock appreciation, with Cardinal Health shares reflecting a 57% one-year return as of the August 18 transaction date.

Cardinal Health operates as a global, integrated healthcare services and products provider, with a market capitalization of $55.0 billion and a workforce of 58,788 employees.

The company is organized into Pharmaceutical and Medical divisions, which together generated trailing-twelve-month revenue of $254.2 billion and net income of $1.7 billion.

Greene’s role as CIO directly oversees the automation and technology investments that CEO Hollar credited during the August 11 earnings call for delivering record service levels and order accuracy.

Capital expenditures reached $649 million in fiscal 2026 and are expected to increase to approximately $700 million in the current fiscal year, reflecting continued technology investment.

CFO Aaron Alt told analysts the company is “executing on a multiyear investment plan,” signaling that infrastructure spending is expected to remain elevated for the foreseeable future.

Adjusted free cash flow is guided to between $3.5 billion and $4 billion for fiscal 2027, a decline from the $5 billion posted in the prior year, which Alt attributed to business growth and working capital factors.

Cardinal Health serves a broad customer base including hospitals, pharmacies, outpatient surgical centers, clinical laboratories, physician practices, and patients receiving home-based care across multiple geographies.
